JAMES WILKINSON
James Wilkinson is a British stunt performer and actor emerging as one of the most exciting new names in the action and genre space. Known for his physicality, versatility and commanding screen presence, he is set to appear as Mekaneck in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the iconic 1980s franchise Masters of the Universe, marking his most high-profile role to date.
His growing career spans international stunt productions, live action performances and film work across the UK and Asia. Credits include large-scale action shows in Japan, Singapore and China, where he worked both as a performer and trainer, including on Universal Studios’ WaterWorld. Equally comfortable on a jet ski as he is on a motorbike, James’ skill set ranges from sword fighting and high falls to full fire burns and precision stunt driving.
Born and raised in Jersey in the Channel Islands, James developed a passion for physical performance from an early age, spending much of his childhood in and around the water and immersed in sport. At 16, he moved to London to train in musical theatre at Bird College before eventually transitioning into stunt work, where his athleticism and imposing 6ft 6in frame found a more natural home.
Following a difficult period shaped by the pandemic and industry strikes, James was close to stepping away from the profession before being invited to a mystery audition that would ultimately change the trajectory of his career. After weeks of silence and having accepted a lead role in a new stunt production in China, he received confirmation that he had been cast as Mekaneck, He-Man’s loyal ally known for his bionic neck and far-reaching vision.
Alongside Masters of the Universe, James is continuing to build a strong slate of film and stunt projects, including the upcoming action thriller Bedlam alongside Scott Adkins, establishing himself as a rising talent within the international action industry.
